Unit Questions

The most likely explanation is that there is an air restriction in your coils. We recommend that you check your filter and replace it. If that doesn't work, then your coils may need to be cleaned or replaced.

The refrigerant inside of your system is cold... extremely cold. As the air passes through it, this is normally enough to keep the coils at an above freezing temperature. If air cannot pass through the coil then it will drop to temperatures that will freeze the condensation and coils up. The most likely reason for your unit freezing over is insufficient air flow, which can be attributed to a dirty and restricted coil.

This will all depend on your unit and filter, but a good rule of thumb is to change your filter every 30 days. A lot of your AC problems can be mitigated from this simple act alone. A clean coil means a happy AC!
